M***i Mohammad Sayeed: Aligarh’s Statesman Who Bridged Valleys and Vision!!! Born in Bijbehara, Jammu & Kashmir in 1936, M***i Mohammad Sayeed was a transformative figure in Indian politics whose intellectual journey began at Aligarh Muslim University. After earning his law and political science degrees from AMU, he entered public life with a deep commitment to democratic values and regional empowerment.
Sayeed served as India’s Home Minister in 1989, becoming the first Muslim to hold the post. He later founded the Jammu & Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 1999, offering a new political alternative rooted in reconciliation and development. He was elected Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir twice—first in 2002 and again in 2015—championing peace-building, tourism, and youth engagement.

J&K Team defeated Ladakh 3-0 in the first qualifier match of 79th NFC Santosh Trophy 2025 presently underway at Mahilpur Punjab. The team will play its second match against Himachal Pradesh on 17th Dec and 3rd match against host team Punjab on 19th Dec 2025.

Congratulations to the J&K Team on their inaugural victory in the Santosh Trophy 2025.
This represents the team's inaugural and most distinguished selection.
