DHANAPALAN who had a rich experience in the field of university education, had been a member of the Academic Council, the Board of Studies, the Syndicate , the Senate and the Planning commission of various universities, was highly motivated by the concept of establishing a Law college at Salem, his birth place, and started working on the proposal. Beyond many obstacles the Institution was finally

established in 1984 by an order of the Hon'ble High Court of Madras. In compliance with the order of the High Court of Madras, the University of Madras granted provisional affiliation in 1984 for starting the 5 year B.A.LL.B INTEGRATED COURSE, and 3 YEAR LL.B course. The Tamilnadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University was formed in 1997 to deal exclusively with legal education.

சேலம் சென்ட்ரல் சட்டக் கல்லூரியில் மாநில அளவிலான பள்ளி மாணவர்களுக்கான ‘பேச்சரங்கம் 2026’ தமிழ்ப் பேச்சுப்போட்டி 20.08.2026 அன்று சிறப்பாக நடைபெற்றது. இந்நிகழ்விற்கு கல்லூரித் தலைவர் திரு. சரவணன் தனபாலன் தலைமையேற்றார். பத்திரிகையாளரும் எழுத்தாளருமான திரு. ராம்குமார் சிங்காரம் சிறப்பு விருந்தினராகக் கலந்துகொண்டு சிறப்புரையாற்றினார்.
இப்போட்டியில் கெங்கவல்லி அரசு மேல்நிலைப்பள்ளி மாணவர் பிரவீன் காந்தி முதல் பரிசையும், சேலம் ஹோலி கிராஸ் மெட்ரிக் மேல்நிலைப்பள்ளி மாணவி சாருநேத்ரா இரண்டாம் பரிசையும், திருச்சி கி.ஆ.பெ. விஸ்வநாதன் மேல்நிலைப்பள்ளி மாணவர் சரண்குமார் மூன்றாம் பரிசையும் வென்றனர். வெற்றி பெற்ற மாணவர்களுக்கு நிர்வாகத்தின் சார்பில் பரிசுகளும் வாழ்த்துகளும் வழங்கப்பட்டன.

The Presidential Address was delivered by Mr. Saravanan Dhanapalan and the Valedictory Function was graced by distinguished guests from the High Court of Madras, Mr. Ilamvaluthi (Special Government Pleader), Mr. Shivakumaran (Advocate), and Mr. Ramsundar (Advocate).
