🔔 RBI Strengthens Customer Protection in Digital Transactions

The Reserve Bank of India has issued Amendment Directions to expand the framework for limiting customer liability in digital transactions. Key highlights include:

✅ Wider coverage of fraudulent electronic banking transactions
✅ Faster complaint resolution by banks
✅ Compensation mechanism for small-value fraudulent transactions

These measures reinforce customer trust and strengthen the digital banking ecosystem. The amended directions will come into effect from 1 January 2027.

📢 RBI Continues Its Regulatory Simplification Drive

As part of its ongoing efforts to streamline the regulatory framework under FEMA, the Reserve Bank of India has reviewed circulars issued since June 1, 2000, and withdrawn those that have become redundant, inoperative, or superseded by subsequent regulations.

This move is a welcome step towards reducing regulatory clutter, improving clarity, and making FEMA compliance more accessible for stakeholders.

Regulatory simplification is not just about removing old rules—it's about creating a more efficient and transparent compliance ecosystem.
