🌱 A Significant Step Towards India’s Clean Energy Future
The Union Cabinet’s approval of the ₹23,371-crore National Circular Bioeconomy Scheme – GOBARdhan marks an important step towards strengthening India’s compressed biogas (CBG) ecosystem.
The scheme aims to significantly increase domestic CBG production by supporting capital investment, assured offtake, pricing mechanisms, pipeline infrastructure and easier access to finance. It will also encourage the utilisation of agricultural residues, cattle dung, municipal organic waste and other biomass for producing clean energy. ♻️
With a vision extending up to FY 2035–36, the initiative seeks to mobilise large-scale private investment, expand the CBG ecosystem and contribute to energy security while creating opportunities for rural employment and sustainable development.
From waste to energy — building a cleaner, circular and more sustainable India. 🇮🇳🌿
