During his visit to India, Prime Minister Mark Carney highlighted the contribution of the 400,000 talented Indian students currently studying in Canada, saying they play a vital role in “deepening our ties” between the two countries.
Describing Canada and India as “one family,” Carney emphasized the importance of education in strengthening bilateral relations. He also announced the Canada India Talent and Innovation Strategy, a collaborative initiative with Canadian universities aimed at expanding opportunities for Indian students, fostering research, and promoting innovation partnerships.
“Indian students enrich our campuses, our communities, and our economy,” Carney said. “Their presence is a testament to the strong bonds between our nations.”
