Supreme Court snaps toxic ties, quashes 498A case, gifts wife ₹4Cr flat in divorce drama!
In a matrimonial dispute marked by years of acrimony, the Supreme Court quashed criminal proceedings under Section 498-A IPC against the husband, finding allegations vague and stemming from ordinary marital squabbles. Invoking Article 142, the Court dissolved the marriage due to irretrievable breakdown, directing the husband to gift his Mumbai apartment (valued around ₹4 crores) to the wife after clearing all maintenance arrears by September 2025, while closing all related proceedings. No additional alimony was awarded, considering the wife’s qualifications and the husband’s responsibilities toward his autistic child.
