Yesterday’s Dainik Jagran coverage on Ministry of Women & Child Development initiative on constitution of Internal Committees and their intense capacity building program with sensitization.

We are still looking for the new guideline/ verdict on the portal however the key understanding that can be considered as IMPORTANT to avoid any emergencies-

1. Constitution of Right INTERNAL COMMITTEE-

🍀Officers/ employees having keen interest to become IC member should be part of the IC.
🍀The employer need to check if the IC MEMBER PROSPECTS do not function with an ill mindset themselves as (why should the girls roam around even during late around or the size of the dress of girls is provoking the tapes to happen) Ideally such people should not even be part of our society and since we can not change the entire society overnight, let us at least ensure the workplaces IC is free from such mindsets)
🍀 Essentially empanel an External Member that is mandated in Section 4(2)(c). The external Member should have the right information of the provisions of the Act.
(The purpose of having an external member is to ensure the inquiry unbiased and transparent)
🍀 Fecilitate the Internal Committees to constitute/ draft a right PoSH Policy, organisations can take help of external consultants if needed.

2. Once the IC is constituted ensure the intense CAPACITY BUILDING and SENSITIZATION workshop for them, a well trained IC only can do the justice with the purpose of creating safe workplace for all including WOMEN.

3. If possible, also include the SENIOR MANAGERS in the IC capacity building programs as IC can ensure the compliance whereas the culture of safety/ respect/ comfort/ dignity flows from TOP to BOTTOM (else the IC is considered generally as a dummy committee).

Initially a right PoSH Policy Draft and proper IC training with SeniorOrganizational Leaders can begin the culture of MINDFUL BEHAVOUR - BY ALL/ FOR ALL.

How does hospitality sector consider the Workplace and Work Relationship?

To clear these and many other definitions and provisions we did a PoSH awareness workshop followed by sensitisation and post session IC meet with more than 60 employees of The Centrum.
Adv Manjary Upadhyay Arti Gunjan Merh and Rupali Singh were the resource persons for the session, Radhisha Akhil had ensured the seemless coordinates for the training.

Sensitization is a continuous process, may be slow and boring at times however if done with best intention and right knowledge, yield into making a better and safer workplaces.

That Hilton Garden Inn Lucknow by Hilton had organised the PoSH awareness program for its new joiners.
