If the BCI says that mere participation in a campaign does not automatically amount to disqualification under Section 24A of the Advocates Act, then:

👉 Can a State Bar Council legally refuse to enrol an entire batch of law graduates merely because some students were allegedly involved in the campaign?

And more importantly

Can collective action against an entire batch be justified without determining the individual role of each student?

💭 Is this regulatory caution—or collective punishment?

Proving the Unseen: The Evolving Rules of Digital Evidence in Criminal Defense

An analysis of India's evolving legal framework governing digital evidence, tracing the shift from Section 65B of the Evidence Act to Section 63 of the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023, and its implications for criminal defence.

Introduction:
When the Evidence Lives in a Machine Imagine a modern-day courtroom. The prosecution places before the judge not a bloodstained knife or a signed confession, but a printout of WhatsApp messages, a screenshot of a bank transfer, and a video clip extracted from a seized mobile phone. The accused sits quietly, knowing that the most damaging evidence against him was never touched by human hands rather it was born inside a machine. It bears noting, however, that where such messages were sent by the accused, they may constitute admissions under Section 15 of the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (corresponding to Section 17 of the Indian Evidence Act) and carry a distinct admissibility pathway that operates independently of the certificate framework discussed in this article.

Respect for the Court is Respect for the Rule of Law. ⚖️The recent arrest of two law students in connection with the disruption of proceedings inside the Supreme Court has sparked discussions across the legal fraternity.A courtroom is not merely a place where disputes are decided—it is an institution that upholds constitutional values, justice, and the rule of law. Every participant, whether a judge, advocate, litigant, or law student, shares the responsibility of preserving its dignity.Freedom of expression is a fundamental right, but it must be exercised within the framework of law and with respect for judicial institutions. Any alleged misconduct inside a courtroom can have serious legal consequences, including criminal proceedings and contempt of court, subject to due process. For aspiring lawyers, this incident serves as a reminder that legal knowledge must always be accompanied by professionalism, ethics, and respect for the justice delivery system. The strength of the legal profession lies not only in advocacy but also in discipline and respect for the institutions that safeguard justice. The case remains subject to the judicial process, and all allegations will be determined in accordance with law.
