The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), founded by Abhijeet Dipke, has revived the satirical slogan that became synonymous with the movement, this time directing it at the legal fraternity amid the ongoing dispute between the Bar Council of India (BCI) and NALSAR University of Law.

The development comes after the BCI directed state bar councils on Thursday not to enrol the 2026 graduating batch of NALSAR as advocates, following protests by students over the university’s decision to invite Chief Justice of India Surya Kant as the chief guest for its convocation.

Reacting to the BCI’s decision, Dipke posted on X: “What if all legal cockroaches come together?” — bringing his signature political satire into the controversy surrounding the enrolment of the law graduates.

NALSAR graduates’ enrolment put on hold? ⚖️

The Bar Council of India has reportedly sought a report regarding the campaign at NALSAR, while the enrolment of the 2026 graduates remains pending until further orders.

This raises an important question for the legal fraternity:

Can regulatory action against an institution end up affecting the professional future of its graduating students?

The issue is not merely about one law university—it concerns the relationship between legal education, BCI regulation and the right of law graduates to enter the profession.

What do you think—should students bear the consequences of an institutional/regulatory dispute?
