MCA Update: Mandatory Photograph of Registered Office for MGT-7 Filings (Effective July 14, 2025)

As per the latest directive issued by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), effective July 14, 2025, it is now mandatory to attach a photograph of the registered office while filing Form MGT-7 (Annual Return).

🔹 Key Requirements:

Photograph of External Building:

Must clearly show the external view of the premises where the registered office is situated.

Company’s name board/signboard must be prominently visible in the photo.

Compliant Signboard (Section 12(3)(a)):

Name of the Company should be displayed in English and the local language.

Should also mention the Registered Office address.

Location Details to be Provided in Form:

Name of the company

Registered office address

Latitude and Longitude coordinates:

As on the financial year-end date

As on the date of filing the form

Optional but Clarified by MCA:

Attaching a geotagged photograph (with embedded lat-long) is not mandatory.

Internal photographs or director images are not required.
