🧑‍💼 New Electronic Travel Authorization System (ETA)
• Mauritius is preparing to introduce an ETA system to modernize entry procedures and streamline arrivals, especially for tourists and short-term visitors. This aims to reduce queues and speed up immigration processing at airports. 

📑 Stricter Rules for Work & Residency Permits
• The government has tightened immigration rules for foreign workers, professionals, investors and long-term residents in 2025.
• Occupation Permits now undergo mid-term economic compliance reviews.
• Young Professional Permits have minimum salary requirements.
• Permanent residency eligibility now generally requires longer stay and higher thresholds than before.
