No Written Statement After 120 Days: J&K High Court

High Court has ruled that under the amended Order VIII Rule 1 CPC, applicable post-reorganisation, a written statement cannot be filed beyond 120 days.

Justice Vinod Chatterji Koul held that the timeline is mandatory and non-extendable. The Court upheld the Baramulla Munsiff’s order rejecting a plea for extension.
