2. Draft the POA Document: Carefully draft the POA document, ensuring it complies with the legal requirements of both your home country and India.
Specify the powers which you are giving to legal representative
Set limitations under which legal representative can act and any special conditions or restrictions desired.
3. Choose the Type of POA
NRIs can provide different types of POAs to legal representatives based on the purpose:
Special Power of Attorney: For specific tasks (e.g., selling a property), ceasing once the task is completed.General Power of Attorney: Broad-ranging powers for managing transactions in India.
Durable Power of Attorney: Remains valid for the lifetime of the principal, even during incapacity.

Grantor Details: Include the name, age, foreign address, Indian address, and occupation of the person granting the POA.
Attorney Details: Specify the name, age, address, father’s name, and occupation of the legal representative.
Reason for the POA: Clearly state the purpose of the POA.
Date of Commencement: Mention when the POA becomes effective.
Grantor’s Signature: Sign on all pages of the document.
5. Notarize the POA Abroad:
The POA must be duly notarized in the country of your residence abroad.
It should be signed and witnessed by two individuals, with their names and addresses clearly mentioned
