Imugene Limited On Brink Of European Patent For Cancer Drug

Imugene expects to secure a crucial patent for its “𝐏𝐃𝟏-𝐕𝐚𝐱𝐱” lung cancer vaccine from the European Patent Office this month, with a trial set for next year to test the drug’s treatment of 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫 (𝐂𝐑𝐂).

The European patent application, which covers the drug's manufacturing and treatment method, is expected to proceed to grant by the end of the year. The patent will then have a maximum term expiring on March 28, 2038.

With both 𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐧 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫 impacting the lives of so many people globally, the value of the European patent and upcoming trial for PD1-Vaxx cannot be overstated.

AbbVie sues over brand-new Imbruvica patent as blood cancer rivalry heats up

AbbVie has opened a new front in its blood cancer drug rivalry against BeiGene. In a new lawsuit, AbbVie’s Pharmacyclics unit contends BeiGene’s Brukinsa infringes a patent on its blood cancer drug Imbruvica. Both Imbruvica and Brukinsa are irreversible BTK inhibitors approved for chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) or small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL).
