Juhi Chawla Moves to Delhi HC Against 5G Rollout.

Bollywood actress Juhi Chawla has moved to the Delhi High Court, raising concerns about the untested implementation of the 5G technology in India.

Chawla says that 5G technology is not certified as safe therefore; its rollout should not be allowed.

It is further states that there is a dire and palpable risk to the public if the untested 5G cellular service is rolled out to the public. As per the principle, prevention is better than cure. Such technology should be scrutinised about how it would affect the general public. Such technology should not be allowed to come into the economic mainstream unless it is tested.

Chawla and the other petitioners further submitted that no one party or individual should be allowed to profit at the expense of the safety and health of others.

Hon’ble Court was also informed that in April 2019, Brussels became the first major city to halt the rollout of the 5G communication over concerns of health and its hazardous nature.

The plea states that insurers in Canada, UK and the USA have refused to cover the risks brought on by cellular telecommunication providers against suits alleging injury through cellular radiation.

Therefore, the onus is on the Respondents to declare that the 5G services were safe and would not harm the public.

The case was listed before Hon’ble Justice C Hari Shankar, who directed that it be placed before a Bench on 2nd June.

Advocate Deepak Khosla has filed this suit on behalf of Juhi Chawla and other petitioners.

No E-Pass Mandatory For Advocates For Movement In Delhi On Production Of Valid I-Cards

A single judge bench of the Delhi High Court today directed that "no authority shall stop any advocate in the NCT of Delhi" from movement during the curfew period without an e-pass, "if he/she produces a valid identity card" proving that he/she is an advocate.

Directing thus, the court disposed of a petition which was praying for the Delhi Police to comply with the Delhi Disaster Management Authority's order dated Apr 19, 2021 which had exempted advocates from producing e-pass for travelling during the curfew period.

Filed by Adv. Dharmendra Kumar, the petition claimed that the petitioner was harassed by the state authorities because he did not possess an e-pass while travelling during the curfew, despite the order exempting advocates from such e-pass requirement.

The court has also directed for the to be communicated to the Commissioner of Police who shall communicate the same to the Deputy Commissioners for dissemination of the same to all police officers.

The petitioner alleged that he was "insulted" and "humiliated" at a checkpost near Dwarka for not having a curfew pass as demanded by the sub-inspector of police, despite informing her of the DDMA order exempting advocates from the e-pass mandate.

The case was being heard by Justice Suresh Kumar Kait.

[BREAKING] Death of COVID patients due to Oxygen shortage nothing less than genocide: Allahabad High Court orders inquiry.

The Court observed that the videos which went viral on social media showed poor citizens begging for oxygen cylinders to save the life of their near and dear ones.

Death of Covid-19 patients due to non supply of oxygen to hospitals is a criminal act and nothing less than genocide, the Allahabad High Court said on Tuesday strongly berating the Uttar Pradesh government and State authorities after videos of citizens begging for Oxygen with authorities went viral on social media.

A Bench of Justices Ajit Kumar and Siddhartha Varma proceeded to order an inquiry into incidents of death reported from Meerut and Lucknow hospitals based on the videos.

The Court observed that the videos which went viral on social media showed poor citizens begging for oxygen cylinders to save the life of their near and dear ones and harassment meted out to them by district administration and police administration.

"The news was also viraled that five patients had died in ICU of a new trauma centre of Medical College, Meerut on Sunday last. Similarly, news were also being viraled that one Sun Hospital, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow and another private hospital at Meerut had taken their hands off the admitted Covid patients only for the reason that oxygen supply was not made even after demand," the Court observed.

These videos showed quite a contrary picture to one claimed by the Government that there was sufficient supply of oxygen.

"We are at pain in observing that death of Covid patients just for non supplying of oxygen to the hospitals is a criminal act and not less than a genocide by those who have been entrusted the task to ensure continuous procurement and supply chain of the liquid medical oxygen," the Court said.

How can we let our people die in this way when science is so advanced that even heart transplantation and brain surgery are taking place these days, it added.

The Court went on to state that normally it would not have asked State or district administration to enquire into such news which are circulated on social media.

But in this case, the lawyers appearing in the matter supported such news and even submitted that the situation in all districts in the State was more or less similar, the Court noted.

It, therefore, directed the government to take immediate remedial measures and also ordered for inquiry into the incidents at Meerut and Lucknow.

"We find it necessary to direct for immediate remedial measures to be taken by the Government. The District Magistrate, Lucknow and District Magistrate, Meerut are directed to enquire into the matter of such news items within 48 hours and submit their reports on the next date fixed respectively," the Court ordered.

They are also directed to appear before the Court online on the next date fixed, it further directed.
