On 20.03.2026, Central District Legal Services Authority facilitated an educational visit for interns of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) at Tis Hazari Courts. During the visit, the interns had the opportunity to witness live court proceedings, providing them with practical exposure to courtroom functioning and judicial processes.

The interns were also given insights into the roles and responsibilities of Legal Aid Defense Counsels (LADCs) and the functioning of legal aid mechanisms. The session was further enriched by an interaction with Abhitesh Kumar, Ld. Secretary, Central DLSA, who addressed the interns and shared valuable perspectives on access to justice and the role of legal services institutions.

On 19.03.2026, the Central and West District Legal Services Authority organized a Joint Monthly Capacity Building Programme for Panel Advocates and Legal Aid Defence Counsels (LADCs) of Central and West DLSA at the Conference Hall, Tis Hazari Courts, Delhi.

The training session was conducted by Ms. Gowri Reghunath, Ld. JMFC-10, on the topic “Grounds of Arrest” along with a discussion on the recent judgment of the Hon’ble Supreme Court in C.A. No. 830/2026 arising out of SLP (Crl.) No. 1536/2026 titled Sumit vs. State of U.P. & Others. The session was also attended by Sh. Abhitesh Kumar, Ld. Secretary, Central DLSA, who shared his insights on the subject and addressed queries raised by the participants, further enriching the discussion.

The session aimed at strengthening the legal knowledge and practical understanding of the participants, particularly in relation to procedural safeguards during arrest and evolving judicial interpretations. On 13.03.2026, a Training Programme on the topic “Role of DLSA and its Functioning” was conducted at Hindu Rao Hospital, Malka Ganj, Delhi by the Central District Legal Services Authority under the aegis of NALSA and Delhi State Legal Services Authority, wherein Sh. Abhitesh Kumar, Ld. Secretary, Central DLSA, acted as the resource person. On 12.03.2026, a Legal Awareness Session on the topic “Say No to Drugs: Impact of Drug Abuse on Health, Education and Future Opportunities” was conducted at DMRC Children Home for Boys (CHB), Tis Hazari, Delhi by the Central District Legal Services Authority.
Ms. Annu Grewal, Counsellor acted as the resource person. The session aimed to create awareness among children about the harmful effects of drug abuse and its impact on health, education, and future opportunities.
