The S.K Puri Memorial International Moot Court ― Justified’20, our annual Moot Court Competition won't be complete without this note.
We would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to all the participating teams, including the international teams; our hard-working volunteers and each & every faculty member of Law Centre-II, who were involved in the process at some stage or the other; including our Professor In-Charge Prof. Mahavir Singh and the Convenor of Moot Court Committee Dr. Pinky Sharma for making this flawless event a grand success.
It was a delight to hear such brain-storming arguments on what Ms. Justice herself better called a simple sale problem. It was a testimony to say the level of participation we had. All the participants performed exceptionally well.
We would like to thank all the seventy judges involved in the process, judging the competition from round one till the finals; to ensure that it was the best who won!
On that note, we would like to congratulate all the winning teams and participants. We would like to give the teams from University Jammu a special mention, the team travelled from Jammu to Udhampur district to participate in the Oral-rounds.
These have been tough times for us all, and it was reflected upon the moot as well, but we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the guests who graced us despite all the difficulties they faced; the Chief Guests of the two sessions, Justice Attau Rahman Masoodi and Justice Prathiba M. Singh. The Guest of Honours, Prof. (Dr.) Vijender Kumar, Prof. (Dr.) Nuzhat Parveen, Senior Advocate Shri Rakesh Khanna, Prof. (Dr.) V.G. Hegde and Dr. Kumar Abhijeet; we were honoured by their presence.
We would like to thank Mr. Sacchin Puri Senior Advocate for guiding us during the whole process. The idea of Researcher's round was very well taken by everyone and we would love to work on the introduction of cross-examination in moot courts, as Mr. Puri suggested. We would also like to thank Mr. Gaurav Puri, Advocate for the welcome address on Valedictory; Mr. Praveen Sharma, Advocate for being there for the committee, whenever we needed him.
Not to forget the patient and wonderful audience that we had, a special thanks to them for helping making the event a lively and energetic one.
Expecting the upcoming seasons to be bigger successes...
