Things to do to protect yourself from online money scams which are on a raise now.
1. Never click any suspicious links that you receive through Messages/WhatsApp/Telegram or any other Social Media profiles. This enables the scammers to access all your bank details and transfer your money to their account in a jiffy. In case, your mobile is used by children, Lock all the apps with a PIN number rather than a pattern except the apps used by your children.
2. Never lock your savings in your savings Bank Account instead create a FD, there are short term Fixed deposit schemes available in many banks, even move your emergency fund to a short term breakable fixed deposit and have minimum bank balance in your account such that loss of it won't affect you much.
3. Keep an account separately which is not linked with your phone number used for Gpay/Phonepe or any other merchandise platforms for all your huge savings.
4.Keep a minimum balance and operate the payment sites, merchandise sites through this account and link this number to your accounts and use Net Banking /Mobile Banking only from this account.
5. Never share your Banking details to anyone such as OTP for credit/debit card PIN, sensitive bank details even if someone pretends to the Manager of your Bank.
