Aadhaar-PAN linking date extended till 30th JUNE 2018

The deadline for linking Aadhaar with PAN has been extended by the Central Board of Direct Taxes to 30th June.

As per the provisions of the recently introduced Section 139AA of the Income Tax Act, 1961, which came into effect from 1st July 2017, all taxpayers having Aadhaar Number or Enrolment Number are required to link the same with Permanent Account Number.

Foreign Law Firms Case:

The Hon’ble Supreme Court in BCI Vs A.K.BALAJI & Ors has held that, foreign law firms with foreign lawyers cannot set up offices in India. However, upholding the Madras High Court judgment, the court allowed foreign lawyers to ‘fly in fly out’ to advise on foreign law but it should be on a temporary casual basis.
