यूपी पुलिस ने देवरिया के गौरी बाजार थाने में 4 लोगों को अवैध रूप से हिरासत में रखा – 13 अप्रैल से 23 अप्रैल 2026 के बीच.

हिरासत में लिए गए लोग हाई कोर्ट पहुंच गए. कोर्ट ने यूपी पुलिस के SHO से थाने का CCTV फुटेज मांगा.

इसके जवाब में SHO ने बताया कि 12 अप्रैल को CCTV में खराबी आ गई थी.

कोर्ट ने पूछा कि क्या CCTV सिस्टम की मरम्मत को जनरल डायरी (GD) में दर्ज किया? SHO ने कहा - ऐसी कोई GD एंट्री नहीं की गई.

इसके बाद हाई कोर्ट ने SP से पूछा - CCTV की लापरवाही को लेकर क्या उन्होंने SHO के खिलाफ कोई कार्रवाई की?

इस पर SP ने सीधे कोर्ट से माफी मांगी. इसपर जस्टिस अतुल श्रीधरन ने कहा - "कोर्ट से माफी मत मांगो, जनता से माफी मांगो.”

जस्टिस श्रीधरन ने ये भी कहा -“लगाएं क्या 5-5 लाख रुपए का जुर्माना आप दोनों पर?"

SHO-SP की बात से नाराज जस्टिस अतुल श्रीधरन ने यूपी पुलिस के अफसरों को “Bunch of Liars" (झूठों का झुंड)तक तक करार दे दिया.

कोर्ट ने आदेश दिया है कि इस मामले के 3 याचिकाकर्ताओं में हरेक को 20,000 रुपए और एक याचिकाकर्त को 5,000 रुपए दिए जाएं.

कोर्ट ने कहा कि कुल 65,000 रुपए का मुआवजा यूपी पुलिस के SHO की सैलरी से वसूला जाएगा.

Facts of the Case

The marriage between the petitioner-wife and the respondent-husband was solemnized on the 28th day of January 2012. Cohabitation existed for only 65 days, after which the wife moved out on the 2nd day of April 2012 on grounds of cruelty. From then on, the parties are living separately for more than 13 years.

40 civil and criminal matters were filed by both parties against each other in various forums such as the Family Courts, District Courts, Supreme Court, and at the Delhi and Allahabad High Courts. The litigious matters were in various laws such as the Hindu Marriage Act, CrPC/ BNSS, Domestic Violence Act, IPC, and various perjury cases under Section 340 CrPC and Section 379 BNSS.

Some cases were disposed of or dismissed, and some are pending.

The present proceedings arose from a transfer petition filed by the wife seeking transfer of a perjury application from Delhi to Lucknow. During pendency, the wife filed an interlocutory application under Article 142, seeking dissolution of marriage on the ground of irretrievable breakdown. Mediation attempts ordered by the Supreme Court failed to commence meaningfully.
