🇨🇦 Big changes could be coming to Express Entry in Fall 2026.
During a recent conference for immigration professionals, Deputy Minister of Immigration Ted Gallivan indicated that updates to the Express Entry system are expected later this year. This comes after IRCC’s nationwide consultation on potential reforms to both Express Entry and the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).
Among the proposed changes being considered:
✔️ Replacing the current 3 Express Entry programs with a single streamlined pathway
✔️ Updating CRS factors to better reflect long-term economic success in Canada
✔️ Giving greater importance to language skills, Canadian work experience, and earnings in Canada
✔️ Introducing additional points for candidates working in high-wage occupations
✔️ Potentially bringing back job offer points for eligible high-wage occupations
While these proposals are still under review, they could significantly impact future Express Entry draws and candidate rankings.
If you’re planning your Canadian immigration journey, staying informed now could make a big difference later.
