When I started practising law 40 years ago, the challenge was finding the right precedent and not to overlook a piece of evidence.
Today, AI can find hundreds and summerize dozens of docs. The real challenge is knowing if to trust.
Two years ago in Amsterdam, I spoke together with Pim Betist about the danger in the halluzinations of AI for Lawyers and warned my colleagues to develop skills not to fall into this trap. Over time we see that AI is changing the way lawyers think, work, and exercise professional judgment. It is a different set of muscels that we have to develop.
But there is a fun side to it. when preparing this article, I consulted with Claude AI and the response was: ""Love this direction — personal, authentic, and sharp. Let me complete it in your voice."
Coming from an AI — that made me smile.
