JAS - Easter Rising 1916
Newly qualified John Scallan was just 23 years old when he took over the business from his uncle, John A. Sinnott, in 1905. Little did he know then what the town of Enniscorthy would face some years later during Easter in 1916. A fascinating letter dated 10th May 1916 to his uncle, another solicitor in Dublin, provides amazing insight into life in the town for people and businesses during the week of the Easter Rising.
