A robot and policing job legal story... US police department has retired a security robot less than a year after deploying it in a public parking garage after it failed to make any arrests or issue a single citation.
Police said the technology ultimately “did not meet operational needs”.

The robot was intended to act as a visible security presence while collecting surveillance footage and monitoring activity within the garage.

The retirement of the robot comes amid wider debate about the effectiveness and value of automated security technologies in public spaces.

DubBot had become a familiar sight in the garage, patrolling the facility and recording footage, but the city has now ended the experiment and returned responsibility for monitoring the site to human officers.

The next time you are out walking your dog, this could happen....a couple who rescued two paintings from a skip while walking their dog have sold the artwork at auction for £16,000.
After hanging the pieces in their home for several years, the anonymous finders researched the artist and discovered they were original works by Louis Wain, a celebrated British artist renowned for his late 19th and early 20th-century cat depictions.
Wain, whose eccentric life was the subject of a 2021 biographical film starring Benedict Cumberbatch, frequently struggled financially during his lifetime and died in 1939. His work has since become highly influential and sought after by collectors, BBC reports.

According to Rogers Jones Auctioneers, while discovering high-value art amongst discarded rubbish is unusual, it is not entirely unprecedented. The auction house noted that all sellers must sign a contract confirming legal ownership of the items before they can proceed to public sale.
