We would like to pay tribute to our client Nancy Reilly who spoke outside court yesterday about changes needed to deal with mental health. We hope that this case will go some way towards improving training and standards in our mental health system.

She said “One thing Mark would want me to do, is to help other people, and so this has to be highlighted as an issue with the HSE. What we need is an open, honest conversation. One of the big failings is sending people to the emergency room. Emergency departments are not capable; they’re not trained to deal with this sort of thing,” she said.

Trinidad and Tobago now visa required for Ireland

Since the 12th of May 2025, citizens of Trinidad and Tobago are required to an obtain entry visa before travelling to the Republic of Ireland. Temporary transitional arrangements are currently in place where persons had already booked their travel however the travel arrangements must have been made....
