☀️ A Summer Story from a Real Estate Agent – The Golden Pendant Story 💛

Sometimes, being a real estate agent means you don’t just show houses… you also find gold! 😆

Yesterday, after a long journey the day before, I was already exhausted when I went out to show some houses. On top of that, I had come down with a cold, probably from allergies or the air conditioning. 🤧

At one of the building sites, I also had a serious battle with the gate. It was incredibly difficult to open, and I managed to scrape my index finger in the process. There was blood everywhere! 🙈

Thankfully, the potential buyers were absolutely lovely, and we ended up spending around 2.5 hours at the different properties.

When we finally left, I noticed something sparkling on the ground. ✨

I hadn’t even seen it earlier.

It was a gold pendant.

I quickly picked it up like a little magpie. 😂🐦✨

When I got home, I checked it properly and realised it really was gold, with an engraving on it. So I decided to post about it on Facebook in the hope that I could find the owner.

I wrote the post, shared it in several places, and then carried on with my usual work. I sent the potential buyers their follow-up emails with the property reference numbers, floor plans and technical information for the houses we had viewed.

Then my phone rang. ☎️

It was them.

They had received my email and were happy with everything, but they had one small favour to ask…

On the way home, they had stopped somewhere and realised that the pendant was missing. They thought they might have lost it at the building site and asked me to let them know if anyone happened to find it.

And I said:

“I have it.” 😂

I had picked it up from the ground just as we were leaving.

They were absolutely delighted! 🥹❤️

It turned out that the pendant had originally been a birthday present, so it had a very special sentimental value to them.

And what was my reward?

A box of Raffaello. 😂🤍

As for the rest… well, we’ll see! 😜

But honestly, the best part was knowing that something meaningful to them had found its way back to its owners.

You never know what kind of story you’re going to take home after a property viewing. 🏡✨

☀️🏡 June is National Homeownership Month, but for me, it’s also a month to celebrate myself and my journey in real estate. Today marks 16 years since I started this incredible career, and I still can’t believe how far I’ve come while continuing to work hard and keep rocking!

I still remember my very first commission—50,000 HUF—earned just three weeks after I started my career in real estate. I cried tears of happiness. That was back in 2010, right in the middle of the housing crisis in the Budapest market.

Since then, I have worked for companies, become self-employed with the guidance of a great mentor and friend, moved to another country and rebuilt myself as an estate agent there, worked for companies again, and eventually returned to self-employment.

There have been difficult times and great times, but one thing I have never done is give up. I have helped so many people over the years, and my favourite moment is hearing my clients’ excitement when they can hardly believe they have found their dream home. That feeling is priceless.

This career is my true passion. Real estate is something you have to love—otherwise, it simply won’t work. I can see myself continuing to do this with the same passion for many years to come.

I’m incredibly grateful to be able to do something I truly love, on my own terms, whenever and wherever I want. I worked hard for this, and I’m thankful for all the colleagues, mentors, clients, and, of course, my family who have supported me and my business both nationally and internationally. 🙏🏻
