What we’ve all been waiting for. We are so happy to announce our first event will be held on the 22nd of September at 7pm in Fransican Well 14B North Mall, Sunday’s Well, Cork City, T23 RHW2.
It’s County Colours Night, so make sure to wear your counties colour, we’ve been seeing those mayo jerseys around campus so we know you have them.
All students are welcome to show off their counties colours at this event and we can’t wait to see everyone !

Whether you’re a born arguer or just curious as to what advocacy thing is all about, come meet the Moot Court, Mock Trial, and Debate Convenors on Monday the 21st at 6:30pm in Kane G02.
Our workshop includes three presentations on each discipline and interactive elements so that you can get a hands-on feel for each advocacy discipline.
No experience? No problem.
Whether you’re a first year who’s never heard of advocacy or a final year who’s still avoiding moots, you’re all welcome.
Just bring your curiosity, we’ll handle the rest.

The UCC Law Society is delighted to announce the position of Diversity & Inclusion officer is open for applications. The role of D&I Officer involves promoting, encouraging and showcasing the importance of diversity and inclusion in the legal sphere.

The successful applicant for the role will be chosen on an interview basis. Deadline for applications is this Thursday, the 17th of September 2026. We are delighted to announce the opening of applications for this year’s Law Conference Subcommittee! Joanna Moynihan, the Conference Director of the 97th Session would like to invite any student from any course to get involved in the 26th Annual Law Conference. Taking part in this sub-com is a fantastic way of getting involved in the Law Society, as well as being a great chance to network and boost career prospects in the legal field.

iWe are delighted to announce the winner, runner up and best first year entry for the Annual Case Note Writing competition, kindly sponsored by 🎉

In first place is Billy Daly, for his case note on Poptoshev v DPP, which offers a clear and persuasive analysis of the Supreme Court’s reasoning on compelled password disclosure and a thoughtful engagement with the constitutional implications for digital privacy.

Runner-up is Jana Sirbu, for her case note on X v Cyprus, which offers a thoughtful examination of the European Court of Human Rights’ approach to investigative failures in sexual violence cases and its implications for States’ positive obligations under Articles 3 and 8 of the Convention.

Our best first year case note is Cillian Carey O’Dwyer, for his case note on O’Carolan v Minister for Education, which provides a clear and well-structured examination of the constitutional standard of “appropriate education” under Article 42.4.
