Applying for a Bali visa? 🇮🇩

In most cases, visa delays aren’t caused by immigration – they happen because of issues with the application documents.

Here are the most common reasons👇🏻

✅ Incorrect photo

Your photo must meet the Indonesian immigration requirements:

• Color photo

• JPG, JPEG, or PNG format

• Maximum file size: 2 MB

• Good image quality

• Correct framing and composition

Blurry photos, cropped faces, or incorrect positioning may delay your application.

✅ Poor-quality passport copy

All passport details must be clearly visible.

If you’re taking the photo yourself, make sure:

• No fingers are covering the passport

• All edges of the passport are visible

• The image is clear and not blurry

✅ Bank statement in the wrong format

If your visa requires a bank statement, it should be submitted as a PDF file, not as screenshots or photos.

✅ Additional documents for specific cases

For example:

• If you’re traveling with a Travel Document, you’ll also need proof of legal residency in your country of residence and an employment contract.

• If you’re applying for a visa for your child, you’ll need to provide a birth certificate and the parents’ marriage certificate.

✅ Choosing the wrong visa type

Every visa has a specific purpose.

If the visa doesn’t match the purpose of your stay, immigration may request additional documents or require you to apply for a different visa.

📩 The best way to avoid delays is to have your documents checked before submitting your application.

At Bali Connect, we review your documents in advance and let you know if anything needs to be corrected, helping your visa application move as smoothly and quickly as possible.

Can you work remotely while staying in Bali?

Yes. But there’s an important distinction.

Each visa is issued for a specific purpose:

🏖️ VOA, C1, and D1 are tourist visas.

📈 D12 is a pre-investment visa.

💻 Digital Nomad KITAS is designed for remote workers.

This doesn’t mean you can’t work remotely on a tourist visa.

If you work for a foreign company or clients outside Indonesia and earn your income from abroad, remote work is generally allowed.

❗️However, if you plan to work for an Indonesian company or earn income from activities within Indonesia, you’ll need the appropriate work permit.

Ubud isn’t about chasing the perfect Instagram photo.

You might wake up to roosters before your alarm. Roads sometimes close for temple ceremonies. Sidewalks are often lined with daily offerings instead of smooth pavement. And at night, you’re more likely to hear crickets and temple chants than busy bars.

That’s exactly why so many people fall in love with it.

Life here is still deeply connected to Balinese traditions. The culture isn’t something put on for tourists – it’s simply part of everyday life.

Every morning, families place offerings outside their homes and temples. Ceremonies happen regularly. Religious celebrations aren’t attractions – they’re just how life is lived here.

Ubud doesn’t try to impress everyone.

But once you slow down and settle into its rhythm, you start noticing different things: quiet breakfasts, roads winding through rice fields, small family-owned warungs, evenings without rushing anywhere, and the feeling that life doesn’t always have to move so fast.

For some, Ubud is a place to visit for a few days.

For others, it quietly becomes home.

Maybe that’s what makes Ubud so special.
