📢 From August 1, 2026, Indonesia introduced new government fees under Government Regulation (PP) No. 30/2026, updating the official charges for services provided by the Ministry of Law.

Here's what changed:

📈 PT PMA registration is now significantly more expensive. For companies with authorized capital exceeding IDR 5 billion, the government registration fee has increased by approximately 4.5 times. Since the minimum investment plan for a PT PMA is IDR 10 billion, most foreign-owned companies fall into this category.

📈 Company registration with authorized capital between IDR 1–5 billion is now around 30% more expensive.

📈 Trademark registration and renewals now cost approximately 56% more. (Fees for micro and small businesses remain unchanged.)

📈 Articles of Association amendments, AHU notifications, and company liquidation filings have increased by 10–35%, depending on the service.

📈 Certain notarial government fees have increased by more than three times.

✅ No changes to government fees for:
• Companies with authorized capital of up to IDR 1 billion;
• PT Perseorangan registration;
• Filing the Annual Corporate Report.

⚠️ Important: These are official government fees set by regulation and apply equally to everyone. They are not determined by Legal Indonesia or any notary. The total cost of registration also includes notary fees and professional services.

⚠️ Extending your visa through the Indonesian immigration website may seem like a quick and simple process. In reality, it’s often anything but.

Tourists regularly run into issues like these:

❌ The application gets stuck.
Sometimes it freezes right after payment. Other times, it happens after biometrics. In some cases, the biometric appointment is never issued at all.

❌ You can’t submit a new application.
Once an application has been created, the system treats it as an active extension request. In many cases, you can’t delete it or start over.

❌ Support is limited.
Emails to immigration often go unanswered while the clock keeps ticking.

❌ Your visa expires before the extension is approved.

🏝️ Moved to Bali and earning an income? You could end up with two countries claiming the right to tax you.

Indonesia, your home country—or even a third country—may all consider you a tax resident at the same time.

Simply living in Bali for more than six months isn't the whole story. 🇮🇩 Here are the biggest changes and updates you should know this month:

1️⃣ Immigration reminders are here.
Immigration will now send WhatsApp and email reminders when it’s time to visit the immigration office to extend your visa. A useful feature—but remember, you’re still responsible for extending your visa before it expires.

2️⃣ Visa violations now carry tougher consequences.
Using the wrong visa or submitting forged documents can now lead to criminal charges, not just deportation. Make sure your visa matches the purpose of your stay.

3️⃣ Helmet violations could affect your immigration status.
A proposal would allow police to report foreign riders caught without a helmet to immigration. That could lead to immigration checks and, in some cases, deportation.

4️⃣ Good news for travellers.
There are no planned price increases for Indonesian tourist visas. Plus, citizens of Belarus and Kazakhstan can now visit Indonesia visa-free for up to 30 days.

5️⃣ New restrictions for foreign-owned businesses.
Foreigners can no longer open bike rental businesses in Indonesia. Overall, 56 business activities have been removed from the list available to foreign-owned companies.

6️⃣ PT PMA owners: don’t forget the new annual report.
All PT PMA companies must now submit an annual corporate report. Penalties start in November 2026, but there’s still time to comply—and we can take care of the entire filing process for you.

Overstaying your visa means staying in Indonesia even one day longer than your visa or stay permit allows.

❗️The only date that matters is the “Valid Until” date on your visa stamp, eVOA or stay permit.

If it says “Valid Until 12 June”, you’re still legal on 12 June. From 00:00 on 13 June, you’re officially overstaying.

What happens if you overstay? 👇

💸 Up to 60 days

The fine is IDR 1,000,000 per day, usually payable at the airport or immigration before departure.

Your overstay is also recorded in the immigration system and may affect future visas or entry into Indonesia.

🚫 More than 60 days

This is a serious immigration offence.

You can’t simply pay a fine and leave. It may result in detention, deportation, and a ban on re-entering Indonesia.

🏥 Too ill to travel?

Illness doesn’t automatically excuse an overstay.

You’ll need official medical documents, including a hospital certificate, diagnosis, and a fit/unfit to travel letter, submitted to immigration as soon as possible. Only then may the fine be reduced or waived.

✈️ Flight cancelled?

A screenshot isn’t enough.

Request an official Delay or Cancellation Certificate from the airline, keep your original ticket, and visit the Immigration Office before your flight. If approved, you may be allowed to stay without a fine.

💳 How to pay

Overstay fines must be paid in Indonesian rupiah, either in cash or with a local bank card. Airport terminals can be unreliable, so carrying enough cash is recommended.

Overstays happen because of visa agent mistakes, simple oversight or unexpected events. But the longer you wait, the more expensive and complicated it becomes.
