Our Capital Market & Securities Partner, Marpaung, recently spoke at a webinar hosted by the Corporate Secretary Association (ICSA).

In her session on POJK 17/2020: Material Transactions in Practice, Hanny outlined the types of transactions that must undergo screening and emphasized the responsibility of corporate secretaries to ensure that key decisions are made before the transaction structure and timeline are finalized. She highlighted that POJK 17/2020 requires corporate secretaries to actively oversee the process from the term sheet stage, not only once final agreements are signed.

We sincerely thank ICSA for the opportunity to engage with its members and look forward to continuing the dialogue on regulatory developments and strengthening governance in Indonesia’s capital market.

We are grateful to the Legal Department of MAP Group Asia for inviting us to share insights on intellectual property: trademarks and copyright.

The session was led by our IP Partner Adolf Martua Panggabean, supported by Associates Andini Naulina Rahajeng Zahrah Ramadhanti Hidayat. Adolf emphasized the importance of intellectual property as a business asset and highlighted several trademark and copyright day-to-day cases, including the use of music in business.

The event was attended by members of the MAP legal team, each actively engaging with questions relevant to their business units. We are happy to support and contribute to strengthening IP awareness in corporate practice.

The digitalization of RUPS, RUPO, and RUPSuk has prompted OJK to issue POJK 14/2025, establishing the legal foundation for electronic meetings in Indonesia’s capital market. This regulation requires Corporate Secretaries to understand governance, compliance, and legal implications to ensure meetings are both effective and aligned with good governance principles.

Our Capital Market & Securities Partner, Hanny Marpaung, was recently invited by the Indonesia Corporate Secretary Association (ICSA) to share insights on the implementation of POJK 14/2025. Hanny highlighted the importance of navigating the new governance framework and building legally robust electronic RUPS, including risk management in electronic corporate meetings.

We were pleased to participate in the Bali International Arbitration & Mediation Center webinar titled “Energy and Mining Disputes: Unpacked from Project Pressure to Legal Battle” on Wednesday, 29 April 2026. Representing ADCO Law, Dendi Adisuryo shared his experience on the strategic positioning of claims in arbitration, as well as practical challenges in cross border disputes and enforcement.
The session also featured Ajit Kumar Mishra, Director of Works at Ircon International Ltd. (a Government of India undertaking), and was moderated by Madeline Kimei, a BIAMC Arbitration & Mediation Panelist.

We thank BIAMC for having us and appreciate the opportunity to contribute to the exchange of insights and perspectives on dispute resolution in the energy and mining sectors. We look forward to continued engagement in future discussions.
