WHAT DOES KITAS MEAN?
KITAS is a sign of permission intended for Foreign Citizens (WNA) or expatriates to stay or stay temporarily in Indonesia legally for a limited period of time.
This Limited Stay Permit Card (KITAS) has a period consisting of 6 months, 1 year to 2 years. Then the permit can be extended according to the applicable provisions. If it's been 2 years, the foreigner concerned can still extend this permit.
TYPES OF KITAS INDONESIA :
1. Working Kitas
This type of Limited Stay Permit Card must obtain sponsorship from the official company that employs it. Types of companies that can sponsor TKA to Indonesia include PT PMDN (Domestic Investment), PT PMA (Foreign Investment), public or private institutions and representative offices.
However, this company must first take care of its licensing by submitting an application to the Ministry of Manpower. If it violates the applicable provisions, the sponsoring company may be fined by the TKA employed. So, for that, you should get to know the procedure for managing foreign workers (TKA).

2. Family Kitas
The main requirement for obtaining this type of Limited Stay Permit Card is to legally marry an Indonesian Citizen (WNI) with proof of a marriage book or official marriage certificate.
This is because the husband or wife of an Indonesian citizen will become a sponsor for obtaining this type of Limited Stay Permit Card with a validity period of one year and the applicant can extend it. In addition, it is not limited to incoming visits to Indonesia.
KITAS marriage visa only allows to live, but not work in Indonesia. Work that is allowed only as a freelancer is not permanent staff in the company.
3. Retirement Kitas
A Pension Visa KITAS is a foreigner with an age of more than 55 years who comes to Indonesia and wants to retire and spend the rest of his time living in Indonesia. These foreigners can apply for a Limited Stay Permit Card after entering Indonesia for one month using a tourist visa.
In addition, the foreigner does not have a business with a branch in Indonesia and with the sole purpose of wanting to retire. However, foreigners holding retirement visas can still open accounts at local banks.
The term of KITAS retirement visa is 1 (one) year and can be extended up to 4 (four) times. This means it has a longer duration than other Limited Stay Permit Cards.
4. Investment Kitas
Investor KITAS is a visa specially made to meet the needs of investors doing business in Indonesia. With this Investor KITAS, it makes it easier for investors in matters relating to living in Indonesia.
