Since April 2025, UK Inheritance Tax has moved from a domicile-based system to a long-term UK residence test.

Below that threshold, only your UK-based assets, including any UK property, sit inside the UK Inheritance Tax net. Cross it, and your worldwide estate will be caught in the IHT net.
