Did you hear Ed Sheeran on the Scott Mills Breakfast show on BBC Radio 2, this morning, talking about Wills?

He said: "I've had a couple of friends pass away without Wills...and it's just told me that I really need to plan for stuff like that." Scott Mills interjects, "It's kind of horrible, but you have to." Ed continued, "You do have to, yeah, because otherwise...especially with my family and my children...I don't wanna leave stress for people. I want it very, very black and white..."

If Ed Sheeran advocates for Wills, what are you waiting for...?!

But, in all seriousness, making your Will ensures that your wishes are followed and reduces the ineviteble stress that your loved ones left behind will face. You never know when the time will come; be prepared.

51,000 Lasting Powers of Attorney applications were rejected last year. It's important they are done correctly and before they are required. A lot of people either do not know what LPAs are, or think they don't need them until they are elderly; the reality is that, if you don't get one until you need one, it's already too late..

Are you getting married or started a family? Are you recently separated and need to make changes to your existing Will or LPAs? Whatever your changes in circumstances, it's really important to keep these documents up to date to avoid any problems and complications later down the line.

In short:

*Wills* are what happens to your possessions (and who takes responsibilty for your children) when you're gone.

*LPAs* are who has the legal right to make decisions on your behalf regarding your health and/or finances when you are still here but unable to make decisions for yourself. This one is much more difficult to organise if you do not have them in place before you *need* them.
