Meet Bradley, a Community Support Worker at Surrey Choices and a volunteer Wellbeing Champion in his community.

Bradley shares how being autistic and having ADHD is his “Spider-Man Sense!” He says it helps him to “understand how other neurodivergent people see the world”. 🕷️💥

Bradley’s story is a great reminder that different ways of thinking and experiencing the world can bring valuable perspectives and help us better understand one another.

Well, this is exciting! We are finalists in the Surrey Business Awards! 🎉

Our fantastic EmployAbility Team has made the final in recognition of their work supporting young people who are NEET (not in education, employment or training) and don’t have an EHCP (education, health and care plan).

We believe every young person deserves the opportunity to thrive in a meaningful career, and we’re incredibly proud of the difference our team is making. 💙

We couldn’t do it without our amazing partners, including East Surrey College Surrey County Council, and the trailblazing employers we work with, to create opportunities and open doors for young people.

A huge thank you to the Surrey Business Awards and the Surrey Chambers of Commerce for this recognition!

We can’t wait to celebrate alongside all the other deserving finalists next month. 🥂

Mighty oaks from little acorns grow 🌳
We have been rolling up our sleeves to plant oak tree saplings to support wildlife in Surrey for many years to come. Getting outdoors and working with nature benefits our mental and physical health, while helping us create a greener, healthier environment for people and wildlife alike. It's also a lot of sensory fun!

Making serious changes, then having serious fun!

Each year, the Advocacy Lead role is up for grabs, giving everyone the chance to put themselves forward and have their voice heard. Candidates take it in turns to give a speech to the group, sharing what is important to them, the things they would like to change and how they would like to make things better in their community.

The role gives customers the opportunity to speak up, share ideas, take responsibility and have more of a say in the things that matter to them. It’s also a great way to work together, develop new ideas and make a difference.

This year, Peter was chosen as Longmead’s Advocacy Lead. Peter is passionate about improving transport links across East Surrey and will be bringing his ideas and enthusiasm to the role.

After the Longmead Self Advocacy Group announced this year’s results, everyone celebrated with a brilliant party! 🎭 A big thank you to the The Garibaldi for hosting the team and helping make it such a fun occasion.

Our Weekend and Evening Respite service gives you and your loved one the opportunity to enjoy activities, hobbies and time out in the community.

We’re delighted to share that our first guest has arrived at The Squirrels! 🎉

We’re so excited to open the doors to our new Short Breaks location, creating more opportunities to support autistic and disabled people, while giving their loved ones the chance to take some time for themselves.

At The Squirrels, guests can enjoy time away in a safe, welcoming and homely environment, where they can:

💚 Make friends and socialise
🏡 Sleep peacefully in their own cosy bedroom
🍳 Build confidence and learn life skills, including cooking
🏊 Enjoy fun experiences in the local area, from swimming to exploring nature

Join in with our treasure hunt, try on some of our PPE and take part in a wood craft activity. We will be here from 10am until 4pm today and tomorrow.

We’re just a few days away from opening the doors to The Squirrels in Banstead! 🏡

Our refreshed Short Breaks service is getting ready to welcome its first guests, and we couldn’t be more excited.

Working closely with Surrey County Council, The Squirrels has been created as a modern, accessible and welcoming space for disabled and neurodivergent people to enjoy a short break, alongside a brilliant staff team who are ready to provide thoughtful, person-centred respite care. 🤝

We can't wait to welcome the first families through the doors and see The Squirrels filled with people having new experiences, learning new skills and developing friendships. ✨
