Welcoming two new faces to our wills and probate team!

We’re pleased to welcome Rebecca Parry and Hannah Gamble to Switalskis, strengthening our wills and probate team in Doncaster and Grimsby.

Rebecca joins our Doncaster office with more than 10 years’ experience in wills and probate, while Hannah brings her expertise to our Grimsby office, having worked in the area for several years.

Both will support clients with a range of private client matters, including wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Grants of Probate and estate administration.

We’re delighted to have them on board and look forward to the difference they’ll make in helping individuals and families plan for the future and navigate important life events.

Following a meeting with Health Secretary Yvette Cooper, a mother who lost her baby after childbirth at St James’s Hospital in Leeds has spoken about her hopes for the independent review into maternity and neonatal services at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

The review, chaired by Donna Ockenden, will examine the care families received, identify any failings and make recommendations for improvement. For families who have experienced harm or bereavement, it represents an important step towards finding answers and ensuring their concerns are heard.

At Switalskis, we are supporting families affected by their experiences of maternity care in Leeds. Their stories deserve to be heard, their questions deserve answers, and meaningful improvements must follow.

As we mark Baby Loss Awareness Week, we are reminded of the importance of remembering the babies who have died and listening to the families left seeking answers.

The results are in!

We're pleased to share our recent results in the Chambers rankings 2027.

This year, we've achieved rankings across six departments, with two of our practice areas achieving a Band One status: Clinical Negligence (Yorkshire) and Crime.

We're thrilled to see so many of our colleagues recognised for their incredible work, with a total of fourteen individuals ranked across Band One, Band Two and Band Three, with two Associates to Watch!

Recent reports of alleged sexual abuse at the Army Foundation College in Harrogate have raised important questions about the safety of young recruits and the responsibility of military institutions.

Hannah Hodgson explores whether the Ministry of Defence can be held legally responsible for sexual abuse within the British Army, including how vicarious liability may apply and whether survivors can pursue a civil compensation claim.
