Myth #41: “If I die without a Will, my stepchildren will still have a legal claim.”

In blended families, close relationships do not necessarily create automatic inheritance rights under intestacy.

A stepchild who has not been legally adopted does not automatically inherit from a step-parent who dies without a Will.
