We are pleased to have maintained our rankings in Family, Corporate and Agriculture in the latest Chambers UK Guide, with our Employment team recognised for the first time.

This recognition reflects the growth of our Employment team, with both Louise Brenlund and Faye Shortall also individually ranked in the guide.

Congratulations to all our partners recognised in this year’s rankings, including Michael McNally, Andrew Hawkins, Kevin Sullivan, Charles Tennant and Matthew Aves. Martin Terrell has also maintained his Band 1 ranking in the UK-wide Court of Protection category.

In recognition of World Mental Health Day on Saturday, our teams wore green today to help raise awareness of mental health and wellbeing.

Staff also received stress balls as a small reminder to take a moment, manage stress and make time for their own wellbeing.

We are also raising money for our Charity of the Year, Dandelion Time, which supports children and families facing significant challenges.

We were pleased to have advised Julian Leefe-Griffiths and his wife, Sarah, on the sale of the historic Tunbridge Wells Hotel to Home Grown Hotels, operator of the luxury hotel brand THE PIG.

Located on The Pantiles in Royal Tunbridge Wells, the Grade II listed, 20-bedroom hotel has been operated by Julian for the past 13 years. It will now enter a new chapter under THE PIG’s ownership, with plans for a comprehensive refurbishment.

Andrew Hawkins, Partner and Head of Corporate, led the transaction, supported by Holly Morriss (Corporate), Angela Robinson and William Shields (Commercial Property), and Faye Shortall (Employment).

Andrew said:

“It was a real pleasure to work with Julian and Sarah on the sale of such an iconic Tunbridge Wells property. The hotel has been an important part of The Pantiles for many years and we are delighted to have supported our clients through such a significant transaction and into the next chapter for both them and the hotel. I look forward to seeing how the hotel develops under the ownership of such an established boutique brand of hotels in the UK.”

We are delighted to welcome Charlotte James to Warners. Charlotte will join us as a consultant, strengthening our criminal law offering with her extensive experience in criminal and regulatory litigation and advocacy.

Charlotte is a highly experienced criminal barrister and solicitor with more than 14 years’ post-qualification experience. She qualified as a solicitor in 2012 with higher rights of audience in criminal proceedings before cross-qualifying to the Bar in 2021.

Throughout her career, Charlotte has represented clients in serious and complex criminal cases, including matters involving multiple defendants, substantial evidence and difficult legal and factual issues. Her experience spans criminal and regulatory litigation and advocacy.
