This month marks a very special milestone for us… 40 years since Wadsworths Solicitors first opened its doors in October 1986. ❤️

A lot has changed since then. We’ve grown, opened new offices, welcomed new faces, expanded the services we offer and helped thousands of people through some of the biggest moments in their lives.

But some things haven’t changed.

We’re still incredibly proud to be a family firm, and just as proud to be part of the communities we serve. Supporting local schools, charities, sports clubs, events and good causes has always mattered to us – because Wadsworths has never just been about providing legal services. It’s about people.

Today, the firm is led by our four Directors – John Wadsworth, Alexandra Tait, Michael Wadsworth and Gemma Dempsey – alongside a fantastic team across our offices who continue to build on everything that began back in 1986.

And perhaps that’s what we’re proudest of.

This week’s Meet the Team introduces Amelia, Accounts Assistant at Wadsworths Solicitors! 💚

Amelia joined the Wadsworths family in September 2024 as an Office Assistant and quickly made her mark with her friendly nature, organisational skills and willingness to get stuck in!

In March 2025, she took on a new challenge, moving into our Accounts Department, where she now works alongside Laura to help keep the firm's finances running smoothly.

From processing transactions to managing day-to-day financial administration, Amelia plays an important role behind the scenes, making sure everything adds up and runs as it should.

With her can-do attitude, attention to detail and approachable personality, Amelia has become a valued member of the team, and we're delighted to see her continuing to grow in her role.

Well… we couldn’t let 20 years pass without making a bit of a fuss! ❤️

Today, we got to celebrate Vickie’s incredible 20 years at Wadsworths - with balloons, flowers, fizz and presents.

And just for comparison… we managed to get hold of a photo (thanks Vickie's mum!) of Vickie in 2006, all dressed up and ready for her very first Wadsworths interview.

20 years later, she’s still here – and we’re VERY glad she got the job!

Today marks a special milestone at Wadsworths… the wonderful Victoria Wadsworth celebrates 20 YEARS with the firm! ❤️

Vickie joined us back in 2006 as a Trainee Legal Assistant in our Wills and Probate department and, over the last two decades, has built up an INCREDIBLE amount of knowledge and experience. Today, as a Probate Case Manager, she supports families through what can be some of the most difficult times in their lives – always with kindness, patience and genuine care.

But her job title only tells half the story.

Vickie is an absolute pillar of our Tamworth office. She’s caring, hardworking, always up for a laugh and quite simply one of those people who makes Wadsworths well…. Wadsworths! We are incredibly lucky to have her.

Twenty years is a HUGE achievement, and we couldn't be prouder to celebrate it with her.

Happy 20th Work Anniversary, Vickie! Here’s to you, everything you've achieved and everything you bring to the Wadsworths family. 🥂❤️

A huge congratulations to our very own Alex Browne, who is now officially a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (FCILEX)! 🥂

Alex has achieved this fantastic milestone after successfully completing her post-graduation portfolio and passing the academic exam stage – the culmination of an enormous amount of hard work, determination and dedication.

We’ve had the privilege of watching Alex develop and progress here at Wadsworths, and we genuinely couldn’t be prouder of everything she has achieved. ❤️

This week’s Meet the Team introduces Laura Staines, Executive Assistant in our Residential Conveyancing Department, based at our Shirley office.

Laura has been part of the Wadsworths team since 2012, bringing a wealth of legal experience and knowledge to her role. As Assistant to Managing Director Alexandra Tait, Laura plays an important role in supporting the smooth running of conveyancing matters and helping things stay on track from start to finish.

With a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach, Laura provides valuable support to both clients and colleagues.

Her friendly nature and commitment to client care make her a trusted point of contact, and she’s always happy to help with a warm and approachable manner.

This week’s Meet the Team introduces Lisa, a Legal Assistant in our Probate Department, based at our Tamworth office.

Lisa joined Wadsworths in May 2023 and has since become an invaluable member of our team, supporting Victoria Wadsworth with the day-to-day work within the Probate Department.

Lisa first began her career in law in 2002, gaining a wealth of experience before taking a career break to raise her family. She has previously worked across both Conveyancing and Family Law in the Tamworth and Sutton Coldfield areas, bringing a broad range of knowledge and experience to her role at Wadsworths.

Her experience, reliability and approachable nature make Lisa a valued member of the team, and we’re delighted to have her as part of our Tamworth office.
