Are you a former breast cancer patient of Amir Bhatti?

Bhatti has recently lost a High Court bid to return to clinical practice at County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust - and over 1,500 of his breast cancer surgery cases remain under review.

He was initially suspended from patient care in February 2025 amid a major investigation involving missed diagnoses and unnecessary mastectomies at County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust (CDDFT).

Bhatti remains employed on full pay while investigations continue but the court has ruled the restrictions are justified due to patient safety concerns and his limited engagement with retraining.

Thousands of women may have been affected by serious concerns around breast cancer surgery - including unnecessary mastectomies - at County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust (CDDFT).

Durham Police are also working to establish whether any criminal offences have been committed in light of concerns over the conduct of surgeon Amir Bhatti.

Nearly 1,500 cases are under review and we are urging women who may have been affected to contact our clinical negligence specialist Hannah Entwistle for confidential support.🎗️💗

“We would encourage any woman who has concerns about the treatment they received to come forward and seek independent advice. Some may not even realise they have been affected,” said Hannah, who is representing patients affected by the ordeal.
