Our Story 🤍🔟

When we founded A R K Lasting Powers & Wills Ltd back in 2016, it wasn’t just about creating a Will writing business. It was born out of a deeply personal desire to help people protect their families when faced with life's most challenging moments. Having worked for years in the legal and taxation sectors, our founder, Karen, saw firsthand how stressful and confusing estate planning could be for everyday families. She knew there had to be a better, warmer way to offer this vital support—free from confusing legal jargon and high-pressure sales tactics.

With that vision, A R K was born—its very name a reflection of our core identity, inspired by our family initials and our sons, Ashley and Ross, with the analogy that at A R K protects you from the floods (or in our case the worst).

Fast forward 10 years… from what was a small team with a big vision, we are incredibly proud of how far we have come. We have grown from a brand-new startup into a trusted pillar of the Hertfordshire community, having now supported thousands of local families with their estate planning needs.

Who would make decisions for you if you couldn’t?

It’s something many of us don’t like to think about but putting a Lasting Power of Attorney in place means people you know and trust can step in if you’re ever unable to make important decisions yourself.

An LPA can cover:

🏡 Your property and financial affairs
❤️ Your health and welfare

Many people assume their partner or family would automatically be able to act for them, but this isn’t always the case.

At A R K, we make the process clear, straightforward and personal, helping you put the right protection in place for your future.
