Calling all Sheffield legal professionals!

Please sign up to the Yorkshire Legal Support Trust and The Access to Justice Foundation Sheffield Legal Walk on 24 June if you haven’t already.

After the most difficult year, it’s certainly something to look forward to and our committee will be walking with colleagues and other Sheffield legal friends — most of them we haven’t seen in person in over a year!

All funds raised go towards the work they do in Yorkshire, funding free legal advice services for the poorest and most vulnerable in our community who are dealing with social welfare legal issues, where access to justice is out of reach.

It’s a 10km sponsored walk around Sheffield to raise vital funds for local advice services and we’re hoping that the 2021 walk is going to be our best year yet, so please join us if you can!

There will also be a raffle after finishing at OHM for a well deserved drink and a trophy that will be presented at the Sheffield & District Law Society Dinner for the team who raises the most.

There’s just 2 days to go until our first virtual event of 2021!

We’ve had around 25 sign ups so far and there’s still chance to register.

We are hosting a careers talk via Zoom on Thursday 6 May at 7pm with Realm Recruit which is aimed at all , and those approaching . The talk will focus on the current market, the importance of job search priorities, the process of working with a recruiter to secure an NQ role and how to make your CV stand out to potential future employers.

There’ll also be an interactive Q&A session and presentations from Duane Cormell (Founder of Realm Recruit) and our very own Baljinder Boughan (Family Solicitor at Bell & Buxton LLP, Solicitors).

The Sheffield & District Law Society are hosting their virtual Annual Christmas Quiz at 6.30pm on Thursday 10 December 2020! 🎄🍷

Due to the current situation and to make sure all their wonderful members and colleagues are able to stay safe and well, they will be hosting the quiz online via Zoom. You can choose to work in teams or individually.

We hope the quiz will bring some much needed Christmas cheer and lift the spirits of what has been a challenging year.

As you are able to take part from the comfort of your own home, family members are welcome to join and cat, dog and child appearances are also invited - it is a relaxed and fun evening for all.

Please grab a festive drink and snacks!

Prizes will be awarded to the winning team/person and for the best Christmas Jumper, so feel free to dress up - or dress up the dog!
