Today marks one year since Bassets Solicitors became a Limited Liability Partnership, but while the LLP may be new, our story is anything but.

Since 1854, Bassets Solicitors has been helping with property purchases, planning futures and navigating some of life's most important moments.

Becoming an LLP has been the next step in the story. It reflects where we are today, a modern forward thinking firm with the same values, commitment to our clients that have defined us over 170 years.

To every client and colleague who has been part of our story so far, thank you. Here's to the continuation of our story 🥂

Est. 1854, LLP since 2025.

What happens during the Conveyancing Process?

Conveyancing is the legal transfer of property ownership from one person to another and typically involves:

1️⃣Title check
2️⃣Searches
3️⃣Enquiries
4️⃣Contract review
5️⃣Mortgage
6️⃣Exchange
7️⃣Completion

It sounds straightforward but each stage can throw up issues that need careful handling.

Steph and her team are here to guide you through every step.

Are you being prosecuted for road traffic offences? Did you know that Legal Expenses Insurance can cover your legal costs?

Legal expenses insurance is often an add-on to your motor, business, or home insurance policies.

If you face prosecution for road traffic offences, make sure you check your policies.

Typically, you can choose your own solicitor. We have substantial experience representing clients accused of all types of motoring offences.

First impressions count! They begin with the first call into the office or the moment you walk through our door.

One client recently shared lovely feedback about our Rochester office receptionist, Abbie.

“I would like to give feedback re: your receptionist Abbie, today. Professionally friendly, articulate and sometimes rare, courteous. It was a pleasurable experience. Thank you Abbie.” Review Solicitors, April 2026

Abbie, thank you for providing a professional, friendly welcome to our clients.

Navigating separation when children are involved presents many important considerations for parents. One common misconception concerning child arrangements following separation is that it always needs to go to Court.

In reality, many families successfully establish agreements independently, through mediation, or with the assistance of a solicitor (and document these arrangements in a Parenting Plan, also known as Our Child’s Plan). If parents cannot reach agreement, a Childcare Arrangement Order can be sought from a Court.

Our Family Law Team understands the circumstances that can affect your family/children. If you are uncertain about how to proceed, we are available to guide you through the options available.
