Please if your going to try fix a leaky wall do not reach for the mastic. Get someone in to repoint it properly.

A bit of sand and cement would probably be cheaper as well

Making up a lime mortar mix for a sample panel before starting the main repointing.

On conservation work, the mix isn’t just thrown together and hoped for the best. The colour, texture, aggregate and finish all need to suit the building, and in this case the sample was being prepared for conservationist approval.
