We use wooden tools to compress and flush off our lime mortar pointing. in this case im using the handle from my churn brush.

After repointing with nhl mortar we constantly keep the mortar damp with eather a hose or damp hessian to help the nhl mortar carbonate.

Traditional lime mortar repointing.

Had to have a day repointing by hand due to power issues but the lads still smashed the meters in.
