Southlake Angling Society Southlake Angling Society is a thriving angling club situated at Woodley and Hurst in Berkshire. The In 2010 we became a Limited Company (Limited By Guarantee).

Established on 21st April 1969, Southlake Angling Society is a thriving angling club situated in Woodley, Berkshire. The Society has three venues, catering for the specimen hunter, match and pleasure angler alike. The Society was started on the 18-acre former estate lake of Southlake in Woodley. In 1976 we took over the running of an 8-acre gravel pit in Hurst from Redlands Aggregates. This lake, now known as Redlands, was purchased by the club in 1999. This was solely to give the Officers and Members of the Club full personal protection from the liabilities of the Club. All it means to Members is that they are liable to pay the sum of £1 in the event of the Club being wound up due to litigation. We are very proud of our fisheries. We believe we offer a superb selection giving members virtually all the sports they could wish for.

A nice result for Chris, who landed a couple of our fish during his session! 👏🎣

One of the fish weighed in at an impressive 19lb 2oz, having been stocked last October at 16lb 4oz. That’s a fantastic gain of 2lb 14oz in less than a year. A great sign that they are settling in well and putting on weight! 📈🐟

What started as a social session for Max and Jed turned into absolute carnage! 🎣🔥

On an overnighter, the pair enjoyed an incredible run of action, with 12 bites and 11 fish landed between them. Max accounted for five fish, including mirrors of 25.8lb, 23.8lb and 20lb, plus two more at around 15lb and 10lb.

With bite after bite between 2 and 9am, it was certainly a session to remember, even if sleep was in short supply! 😴

A huge congratulations to one of our talented junior members, Alfie, on landing his first carp from Southlake! 👏

After consistently catching from Southlake although mainly tench Alfie finally got his reward with this stunning 15.2lb mirror carp. What a result! 💪

It’s fantastic to see the hard work, patience and persistence of our junior anglers paying off. Well done, Alfie we’re sure this will be the first of many! 🎣

A fantastic carp at 25.8lb for Jut. A great catch made even better after a weekend of hard work around the lake.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and helped out at the Redlands work party. Plenty was achieved over the weekend, and the effort from everyone involved is hugely appreciated. 👏

Great work, great teamwork and, of course, a great carp to top it all off! 🎣

Jed Greenwood has sent over a few more of his recent catches from a couple of nights at Redlands and what an awesome selection! 🐟

The highlight of this bunch is a proper gnarly old mirror, aptly named “Blackspot”, weighing in at 26lb. Jed also added a cracking 17.5lb mirror and an 11lb Ziplin to the haul.

Some beautiful Redlands carp. Great angling, Jed! 👏🎣
