GHW Solicitors LLP are delighted to welcome back solicitor, Rebecca McDevitt as head of their property team.

Rebecca completed her training contact with the firm and qualified as a solicitor in 2018. She left GHW to have her daughter and recently has been working as solicitor for a firm in Skipton.

Rebecca specialises in all types of property work, including property purchases, sales, transfers of equity and remortgages.

Rebecca commented, “I am very happy to be back in Ramsbottom and look forward to working with old and new clients alike. I also enjoyed a good relationship with the local estate agents and also look forward to reconnecting with them”.

GHW Solicitors LLP have recently settled their largest personal injury claim, since the practice was established in 2009.

They managed to secure settlement of £2.1m following an accident in 2021, when their client was involved in a horrendous accident at work, because of which he suffered life changing injuries.
He suffered a below the knee leg amputation and severe injuries to his surviving leg resulting in extensive treatment, the amputation of toes and an ankle fusion.

The case was complicated due to the fact the defendant’s alleged contributory negligence despite pleading guilty to numerous criminal charges brought against the Defendant Company by the Health and Safety Executive.

GHW instructed numerous experts to establish the extent of the injuries and how they would impact on the client going forward.

Founder Gareth Williams commented:
“This was a complicated case, but I am pleased that we were able to secure a significant settlement for our client, which reflected the hard work and expertise of our team. It demonstrated the importance of using experienced professionals who have significant experience in claims of the upmost severity”.

GHW Solicitors are more than happy to accept donations for this worthy cause!

In previous years at Christmas we have collected shoe boxes filled with essentials and treats for our service users. This year, with more families than ever before relying on our food parcels each week we have decided instead to collect SELECTION BOXES.

We are looking for upwards of 100 to be collected before Christmas Eve when our volunteers will be out once again dropping food parcels to those most in need just in time for the big day.
