When the local authority becomes involved in a child’s life, it can be an extremely stressful and uncertain time for parents and families. Understanding the process and knowing what to expect can make a significant difference during what is often an emotional situation.

Our latest article explains the timeline of local authority intervention in public children law matters, from the initial concerns raised by children’s services through to pre-proceedings meetings, assessments, care proceedings and potential court orders.

We also outline the role of the local authority, what parents and carers can expect at each stage of the process, and why obtaining early legal advice is so important when concerns are raised about a child’s welfare.

Solicitor Lauren Dixon explains in this article how they work, when they apply, and the impact they can have on developers, landowners and buyers.

We are unbelievably proud of our 17 amazing team members who took on the challenge and represented us and MND Association so brilliantly. Every mile run, every cheer from the sidelines, and every single donation has helped us to add to our overall GA total, which now stands at a phenomenal £8,401!

What a fantastic night we had at our annual GA Quiz Night at The Loft 🧠

From testing our knowledge to enjoying some great food and a couple of well-earned drinks, it was a brilliant evening all around. Even better, together we raised an amazing £660 for our Charity of the Year, the MND Association .

A huge thank you to everyone who took part, helped organise, and supported such a great cause. Nights like these really show the power of teamwork (and a little friendly competition! 😉)

Surgical negligence claims can be complex and understanding all key considerations is crucial.

From proving that care fell below a reasonable standard, to demonstrating how that directly caused harm, every case requires detailed investigation and expert evidence. Recent cases also highlight how outcomes can vary depending on the specific circumstances and medical context.

If you’ve been affected by surgical errors, knowing your rights and the legal process is the first step towards seeking answers and support.

Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence partner, Matthew Sheather, discusses this in further detail in this article: https://gasolicitors.com/blog/medical/surgical-negligence-claims-key-considerations-recent-cases/

From April 2026, important changes to employment law are in force, impacting unfair dismissal compensation and injury to feelings awards.

Updated statutory limits mean increased compensation caps, higher weekly pay thresholds, and revised Vento bands for injury to feelings, all potentially increasing financial exposure for employers.

With further reforms on the horizon, including the proposed removal of the compensatory award cap in 2027, it’s more important than ever to stay informed and ensure compliance.

Read our latest article to understand what these changes could mean for you.
