We see it a lot. Money is given by parents for a house deposit to a child and partner. It looks like a gift. No further discussion is had

Several years later, the child and partner split and suddenly the parents want the money back urgently. The parents and child say it was a loan. The partner says it was a gift

Suddenly we have a rift that will never be healed and someone has to decide how it’s resolved

Often it’s possible to solve these before trial, but our advice follows what we expect the Court would do if it had to decide

It’s often a hard one to call, but our Director Lee Stutt has put together a simple guide setting out the Court’s usual thought process

Our clients are so good at telling us what they like and we love it. We also like to hear what they want to adapt and tailor, so we can tweak that for each client too

That’s a wrap on

What can we say. What an amazing day full of fun, laughter, connections and genuine friendships

We loved seeing every single one of you, exchanging stories, finding out about your businesses and distributing merch

We came away with a handful of our own merch but a HUGE haul of everyone else’s, which the small StuttWood crew have already divvied up and claimed 😝
