On Monday, Thomas Mitchell, Partner at RTA Law, joined an impressive line-up of speakers at Graham Feest's Transport Traffic Safety Roads 2026 Conference at The Royal Scots Club in Edinburgh.

The event brought together road safety professionals, policymakers, educators, and industry experts to share knowledge, encourage collaboration, and explore ways to make our roads safer for everyone.

At RTA Law, we see first-hand the devastating consequences of road traffic collisions, particularly for vulnerable road users. That's why we're passionate about supporting initiatives that help prevent collisions and reduce casualties.

Privately owned e-scooters remain illegal to use on public roads, pavements and cycle paths, yet they're becoming an increasingly common sight across Scotland.

With accident rates rising and compensation claims now exceeding £110 million, it's clear the law needs to catch up with modern transport.
