Ever wondered what legal support you have as a cyclist involved in a road traffic accident?

Recyke-a-bike are hosting a free talk from Cycle Law Scotland on 11th June, 5:00-6:30pm.

Join our speaker Roz Galloway, a civil litigation lawyer with over 18 years experience. Roz provides local legal support for injured cyclists, pedestrians and motorcyclists.

The talk will provide insight on what support is available to you in the event of an accident, and will bust myths surrounding cycling 'grey areas'. There will also be allocated Q+A time at the end.

🚴 Hidden pothole. Serious injuries. Full compensation secured.

Paul was enjoying a cycle ride with friends when his front wheel struck a pothole concealed beneath standing water on a road near Kilmarnock.

The crash left him with a head injury and other painful injuries. Although liability was admitted, the council argued Paul should have seen and avoided the defect.

Armed with detailed photographs and measurements, we challenged that allegation and secured a full settlement.

If you've been injured because of a pothole or road defect, evidence can make all the difference.

We enjoyed supporting this year's Pedal On Parliament event in Edinburgh on Saturday.

It's always refreshing to see the energy and enthusiasm of so many cyclists of all ages coming together to once again request the Scottish Government to provide funding for protected cycleways, sustainable type transport and active travel.

A cyclist injured on Edinburgh’s tram tracks has secured compensation after Cycle Law Scotland uncovered dangerously unsafe cycle lane markings on Leith Walk.

Harriet was thrown from her bicycle when her wheel became trapped in a tram rail while following the designated cycle lane through the junction at Duke Street and Leith Walk.

Our investigations revealed the cycle lane measured just 0.33 metres wide which is dramatically below Transport Scotland’s recommended minimum width.

This case highlights the continuing dangers tram infrastructure can pose to cyclists when safety is not properly considered.

Read Harriet’s story and learn how we helped secure compensation.

🚴 Client Story: Cyclist injured from pothole crash.

After being turned away elsewhere, Stuart came to us following a serious crash caused by a pothole.

🔍 Our investigation revealed:
✅ Council knew about the defect
✅ It was classed as high priority
✅ Repairs were delayed for months

They denied responsibility so we raised court proceedings.
💼 Result: Full settlement achieved for Stuart’s injuries and losses.
Pothole claims are complex, but we know how to prove them.
