Congratulations to one of our solicitors, Zoe Dudley, from our Prison Law department on a significant result before the Parole Board.

Zoe secured the release of a client serving an extended determinate sentence for a serious sexual offence following an oral hearing.

The case was particularly complex, as the client had consistently maintained his innocence of the index offence throughout his sentence, which presented substantial challenges in the parole process.

Despite these challenges, Zoe’s careful preparation and robust advocacy led to his release after five years in custody, three years ahead of his sentence expiry date.

This outcome is a testament to Zoe’s skill, well done!

Some of our Oxford team took part in The Oxford Legal Walk yesterday.

The walk raises vital funds for free legal advice services in Oxfordshire, supporting people facing issues like debt, housing, employment and benefits. With demand for these services higher than ever, every step really does help keep the doors open for those who need them most.

From 5th May, Nicola Maynard has taken the lead as Head of Immigration, bringing her extensive experience and client‑focused approach to this new department. The team will be supporting individuals across a wide range of immigration services, including visa applications and long‑term planning.

We’re also delighted to welcome Melissa Vangeen and Naina Ukrani, who join us as Consultants to help shape and grow the department alongside Nicola.

We are so proud to announce the opening of our new Newcastle office. This move allows us to expand the reach of our Mental Health services into the communities we support in the North East.

We are also delighted to welcome Melissa Ida Petty to the team. Melissa is a great addition to the department and brings valuable experience that will further strengthen the support we offer to our clients.
